Do you use any other materials besides paint?

Yes, we also use stains for a number of projects.

How much does it cost to paint a 2,500 sq ft home?

We prefer to see your home in person to assess the level of prep required, the type of paint you currently have, take measurements, and determine whether your home is open concept, among other items that could impact the price.

Do you have a minimum project cost?

Yes, the minimum price for an interior project is $600 + tax, and for an exterior, it's $900 + tax.

Is it more expensive to remove popcorn ceilings when they've been painted?

Yes, when ceilings have been painted, it typically seals the surface, so different tools and materials are required to transition the ceiling to a flat surface. Note that the price for a higher ceiling will be more due to safety factors.

Is a primer necessary when painting over builder's grade paint?

The estimator can evaluate the quality of the current paint during your estimate appointment.

How long does it take to paint a home?

This depends on a number of factors, including the number of painters assigned, the complexity of the project, the square footage of the room, and the amount of prep work involved. Our rule of thumb is that one professional painter can paint roughly the equivalent of $700 per day in price to a customer.

Is there anything the homeowner should do to prep for your crew to arrive?

Our proposals explicitly detail what up-front work is required for each customer. Preparation depends on the type of work being performed and is different for interior projects vs. exterior projects, and it's catered to each specific job.

Do you clean up after the project is complete?

Absolutely! Our supervisors will use drop cloths to protect your floors and remove them when finished. We will remove our supplies and sweep and/or vacuum up any debris. Depending on the project, we sometimes recommend you hire a professional cleaning company to clean your home and/or HVAC system.

When is the best time to paint?

Exteriors should be painted when daytime temperatures are consistently over 10 degrees Celsius and night-time temperatures are consistently over 5 degrees Celsius. It's also best to paint exteriors when we're not in the morning dew season or midge fly season. The best time to paint an interior is when the house is empty.

How often should people paint their homes?

The average residential homeowner paints their exterior every 5-7 years, and this should be the maximum time limit to properly maintain the various substrates. Interiors are generally painted when people move into their homes, when they're listing their homes for sale, as color trends change, when children are born or move out, during a renovation, to get ready for special visitors, etc.

Is weather a factor in your area when it comes to wear and tear on exterior painting?

Yes, weather is definitely a factor in Canada on the longevity of exterior painting.

How many people do you send out for each job?

We assign the most appropriate job site supervisor to each job, and jobs can have anywhere from one person on-site to four, depending on the size of the job, complexity, and deadline.

Do I need to be home while you paint?

On the first day, we kindly request that you make yourself available to review project details, assist the supervisor in identifying a suitable location for setting up a staging area, and point out the locations of washrooms and water sources for tool cleaning. If you are unable to be present each day, you may coordinate alternative arrangements directly with the supervisor. Additionally, it would be ideal for you to be present on the final day for a final walk-through.

Do you offer a warranty for your painting services?

Yes, we offer a 3-year warranty for our workmanship and materials, as well as a 15-year warranty for our exterior work. We want to ensure that you are completely satisfied with our painting services and that your home looks beautiful for years to come.

Can you provide references or examples of your previous work?
